788. Oscar Kirkpatrick was born in Dec 1846 in New California, Grant Co., Wisconsin. He died on 1 Mar 1931 in Athabasca, Alberta, Canada.
Oscar was born 3 December 1846 at New California, Wisconsin, formerly a t hriving community, but now a Grant County ghost town. He married first , 28 January 1870 in Wingville, Grant County, Wisconsin, to Mary E. Dav is, daughter of John A. and Harriet Davis of Mineral Point, Wisconsin. S he probably died between 1876 and 1879. A funeral expenditure is recor ded in June 1881, paid for by Oscar and we presume it was an expense fo r his wife. On 6 January 1880, Oscar married a second time in Mifflin, W isconsin Isabelle or Isadora ("Isa") Thomas, the daughter of George and J osephine (Noel) Thomas. His second wife was born 7 October 1862 in Gra nt County, Wisconsin. However, the 1880 Iowa County, Wisconsin census h as an unexplained "Caroline R. Kirkpatrick", age 18 listed as the wife o f Oscar. Is this a third wife who died very young? According to the I owa County marriage records, however, he was already married to Isa Tho mas. Who this Caroline is, is a mystery. Between 1893 and 1895 he mov ed to Minnesota. He is found in the 1900 census living in Stokes Towns hip, Roseau County, Minnesota. Sometime after 1900 he moved to Athabas ca, Alberta, Canada, where he died 1 March 1931. His wife died in Atha basca, 28 November 1926.

Three children were born of the first marriage, and eight children born o f the second marriage.
