He married Mary Hannon who was born 14 August 1846 in County C ork, Ireland, and died 5 June 1905 in Livingston, Wisconsin. Vance and M ary lived at Livingston in Grant County, Wisconsin. Both are buried in t he Kirkpatrick Cemetery in Rewey, Wisconsin. Mary Hannon Kirkpatrick w as a sister of Catherine Hannon, wife of Vance's brother Francis. Vanc e was married in a double ceremony with his sister Frances. Vance was a f armer at the time of his marriage 25 may 1862 at Clifton Township, Gran t County, Wisconsin. we have no explanation for his unusual nickname " Barlow".

He was married to Mary Hannon (daughter of James Hannon and Ann ???) on 25 May 1862 in Clifton Township, Grant Co., Wisconsin.⁽⁴⁵⁸⁾ Mary Hannon was born on 15 Aug 1846 in County Cork, Ireland. ⁽³⁸⁾ She died on 5 Jan 1905 in Livingston, Grant Co., Wisconsin. ⁽³⁸⁾ She was buried in Kirkpatrick Cemetery, Rewey, Iowa Co., Wisconsin.⁽³⁸⁾ Vance Lust Kirkpatrick and Mary Hannon had the following children:
