James Andrew Kirkpatrick Jr. was born on 21 June 1923 in Chaonia, Wayne Co., Missouri.¹⁶⁷² He died on 13 December 1982 at the age of 59 in St. Louis, St. Louis Co., Missouri.^561,1672 He was buried in Masonic Cemetery, Wayne Co., Missouri.⁵⁶¹ Obituary from Daily American Republic, 14 December 1982: James A. Kirkpatrick, Jr. 59, of Piedmont, died at 8 p.m. Monday at St. Lucke's West Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. Kirkpatrick was born June 21, 1923, in Chamois. He was a former employee of Railway Express in St. Louis. He was a member of the Christian Church. On June 22, 1945, he married the former Estelle Lester. She survives. Also surviving are eight sons, James Andrew Kirkpatrick III, Houston, Texas, Lester Eugene Kirkpatrick and William Harris Kirkpatrick, both of Piedmont, Charles David Kirkpatrick, Portland Ore., John Anthony Kirkpatrick, Joseph Clary Kirkpatrick and Matthew Kirkpatrick all of St. Louis and Robert Edward Kirkpatrick, West Point, NY; one daughter Bonna Ann Harmon, Malden; five sisters, Ann Lindgren, Spokane, Wash., Dixie McSpadden, Van Buren, Iva Jo Eastman and Sue Gooch, both of Piedmont and Clara Etta Graff, St. Louis; his parents James Andrew Kirkpatrick, Griffithville, Ark., and Mabel Ann Clary Kirkpatrick, Piedmont; and 11 grandchildren. Visitation will begin after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Gish-Bowles and Coder Chapel in Piedmont. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gish-Bowles and Coder Chapel. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery in Piedmont.

The funeral for James Kirkpatrick, whose obituary was published in Tuesday's paper, has been changed to a graveside service which will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Piedmont's Masonic Cemetery. Mr. Kirkpatrick was born June 21, 1923, in Chaonia. Due to an error in information supplied to the Daily American Republic, one of his eight sons, James Kirkpatrick III, was incorrectly identified as James Kirkpatrick II.
