Both are buried in the Smithville Cemetery, Smithville, Monroe Co., Mississippi; Smithville, Monroe Co., Mississippi. Leyzunda served in the Calvary in World War I in France. Both were members of the Baptist Church.

He died on 10 May 1973 at the age of 79 in Amory, Monroe Co., Mississippi.
