Nellie Kenney was born 13 August 1874 in Kahoa, Clark County, Missouri. After her father's death in 1897, she may have moved to Creston, Union County, Iowa where two of her uncles, Edward and Leroy Kenney, lived. She married on 6 September 1897 in Creston, Iowa, her first cousin, William Leroy Kenney, son of Leroy and Mary Dejernette (Baird) Kenney, who was born ca. 1873. William Leroy Kenney graduated from the University of Iowa Medical School in 1897. William and Nellie moved to St. Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri in 1901 where they lived until their deaths. William died on 11 August 1945 and Nellie died on 19 December 1950.
There were three (3) children born of the marriage. Nellie Kenney and William Leroy Kenney were married on 6 September 1897 in Creston, Union Co., Iowa. William Leroy Kenney, son of Leroy Kenney and Mary Dejernette Baird, was born about 1873. He died on 11 August 1945 at the age of 72 in St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., Missouri.
