Thomas Jay Hill was born 5 November 1896 in Iowa, the son of Charles Clark and Celia Loucetta (Kirkpatrick) Hill. He died at Nome, Texas, in the 1950's. He was a rice planter. He married Vina Kilbourne at Kinder, Louisiana. He married a second time to Almeda Johnson.

There were two (2) children born of the first marriage.

There were nine (9) children born of the second marriage.

On the 1930 U. S. census of Precinct 5, Jefferson Co., Texas, Thomas Hill appears with his wife Almeda and children, Florence, Charlie, Wilbur, daughter age 16 unable to read her name must be Lela May, Alain or Alvin, Lucy, Joseph, Elmer and Claude. Thomas is a farmer. Florence works as a cook for a private family. Charlie and Wilbur are farm laborers.

Almeda Johnson was born on 9 April 1885 in Nebraska.^5,695 She died on 28 July 1975 at the age of 90 in Raywood, Liberty Co., Texas.⁵ She was also known as Almeada Dorthea Johnson.⁵
