John Hope Kirkpatrick was born on 27 December 1858 in Indiana.^9,84 He died on 15 November 1943 at the age of 84.⁹ He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka, Greenwood Co., Kansas.⁹ John Hope Kirkpatrick, named for his Grandfather, was born in 1858 and died in 1943. He married Isabel Bruner.

There were five (5) children born of the marriage.

On the 1930 U. S. Census of Fall River, Greenwood Co., Kansas, John H. Kirkpatrick, age 71, and a widower appears. He is a farmer. His daughter Nellie F. Bruner and her husband Clifford C. Bruner are also in the household. Clifford is a salesman for an oil company. This family appears after the family of Charles Kirkpatrick, a brother of John's.

John Hope Kirkpatrick and Isabella Bruner were married on 4 December 1882 in Decatur Co., Indiana.⁵⁷⁸ Isabella Bruner was born on 19 April 1861.⁹ She died on 6 October 1926 at the age of 65.⁹ She was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka, Greenwood Co., Kansas.⁹
