Andrew J. Kirkpatrick was born about 1832 in Wayne County, Missouri. He died on 27 August 1892. He was a Baptist and a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Wayne County, Missouri. He served as Sexton, and also served on several committees and helped build the Oak Grove Baptist Church. On 28 June 1854 He married Margaret Kirkpatrick in Scott County, Missouri.

On the 1870 U. S. Census of Greenville, Wayne Co., Missouri, Mary Kirkpatrick age 69 born in Tennessee has Andrew's children in her home. She has James, Mary, Edward, John, Thomas and Hardie. There is a 33 year old female Spodda [??] Kirkpatrick born in Missouri also in the household.

On the1880 U. S. Census of St. Francis, Wayne Co., Missouri, Andrew appears with his wife Sarah E. and children James F., Charles L. and Adah. Adah is listed with last name of Williams under Lillie E. Williams, Andrew's step daughter, age 6. Adah is 2 years old.
