673. William M. Kirkpatrick was born in 1837 in Jefferson Co., Iowa. He died on 12 March 1863 at the age of 26 in Steamer "Nashville".

William Kirkpatrick was born about 1837 in Jefferson County, Iowa, and lived in Glasgow, Iowa prior to the Civil War. He married Rachel E. Taylor, daughter of William and Mary Hannah Taylor in Jefferson County on 16 April 1861, and had two daughters. William joined the Union Army, enlisting in Company G, 30th Iowa Volunteer Infantry, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He died of disease, 12 March 1863 on the steamer "Nashville". His widow Rachel later married Daniel Vorhies.

William M. Kirkpatrick and Rachel E. Taylor were married on 16 April 1861 in Jefferson Co., Iowa. Rachel E. Taylor, daughter of William Taylor and Mary Hannah ???, was born in 1842 in Iowa.253 On the U. S. Census of Trenton, Henry Co., Iowa Rachel appears as Mrs. Vorheis and her daughter Ida as step daughter to D. J. Voreis. D. J. is probably Daniel J.
