75. Edward Morehead Kirkpatrick was born on 4 April 1790 in Chester Co., South Carolina. He died on 3 September 1869 at the age of 79 in Franklin Co., Illinois.¹⁷ He was buried in Reid Cemetery, Franklin Co., Illinois.¹⁷

Edward Moorehead Kirkpatrick, youngest of Francis Kirkpatrick's children, was born in Chester County, South Carolina, 4 April 1790. He is named in Francis' will. Joseph Feemster was appointed guardian to Edward (as he was to some of Edward's cousins, the children of Thomas Kirkpatrick). Feemster moved to Tennessee and so did Edward along with his brothers John and Samuel.

Edward married Clarissa Ferris in Jackson County, Tennessee, on 18 October 1812. She died in 1838 and he remarried, this time to Amy Jane (Silkwood) Stroud, on 29 October 1838. She was the daughter of Barzilla Silkwood and had three children by her first husband. This last marriage took place in Franklin County, Illinois.

Edward appears in the 1820 census of Jackson County, Tennessee, and in the Federal census tallies for 1840, 50, & 60 in Franklin County, Illinois. He died 4 September 1869, and is buried in Reid Hill Cemetary near Mulkeytown, Illinois.

In total Edward had, with both wives, 11 children of his own and three step-children (Amy's).

Edward Morehead Kirkpatrick and Clarissa Ferris were married on 18 October 1812 in Jackson Co., Tennessee. Clarissa Ferris was born on 6 September 1795.¹⁸ She died on 19 January 1838 at the age of 42 in Franklin Co., Illinois.¹⁹ She was buried in Reid Cemetery, Franklin Co., Illinois.¹⁷

Edward Morehead Kirkpatrick and Amy Jane Silkwood were married on 29 October 1838 in Franklin Co., Illinois.²⁰ Amy Jane Silkwood was born in 1804 in Tennessee.²¹ She died on 25 February 1871 at the age of 67.¹⁷ She was buried in Reid Cemetery, Franklin Co., Illinois.¹⁷
