Obituary from Wichita Eagle, December 14, 1940: Claude M'Millen, Six Months Illness Is Fatal to World War Veteran. Claude McMillen, 51, a resident of the Kingman and Goddard communities all of his life, died late Friday in a local hospital after a six months illness. Mr. McMillen was born in Kingman county, October 15, 1889. At the time of his death he resided on Route 2, Goddard. He was a member of the Baptist church and of the American Legion of Clearwater. He was a veteran of the World war. Surviving are his wife, Clara; two daughters, Eleanor, New York City, and Mrs. Jospehine Gray, Portland, Me.; one step-daughter, Miss Louise McMillen, Goddard; one brother, Carl J. McMillen, Wichita; one sister Mrs, Bertha Bohanon, Wichita; his father, Joseph McMillen, Goddard; and one grandson Guy Gray, Jr. Funeral services will be held at the Byrd-Snodgrass funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Clearwater.
