Lloyd L. Kirkpatrick, 91, of 2620 Fulton St., died at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where there will be a St. Patrick's Parish Scripture wake service at 4:30 p.m. Mr. Kirkpatrick worked at Flexsteel Industries Inc. for many years and later served as a deputy sheriff until retiring in 1973. He was born on Jan. 15, 1909, in Platteville, Wis., son of George and Lucy (Savory) Kirkpatrick. He married Ruth Foley on July 30, 1930, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Parish and the Dubuque County Sheriff's Association. He loved to fish and enjoyed playing euchre. Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Ruth, of Dubuque; two daughters, Marilyn (Joseph) Wiker, of Lancaster, Pa., and Janet (Thomas) Conry, of Dyersville, Iowa; a son, Lee (Barbara) Kirkpatrick, of Dubuque; 11 grandchildren, Mark and Alan Engling, Beverly Pomponi, Kevin and Kyle Conry, Kerri Alleman, Kelli Harter, Mary Jo Anderson, Kathleen Neyens, Karen Rogan and Michael Kirkpatrick; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren, Patrick Engling, in 1960, and James Kirkpatrick, in 1986; five sisters, Mercedes Lilly, Blanch Shelton, Alvina Kirkpatrick, Lois Kamn and Lenice Forrest; two brothers, Theodore and Keith Kirkpatrick; and a special sister-in-law, Sister Timothy Foley, SVM. Memorials may be given to the Sisters of the Presentation, 2950 Kaufmann Ave., Dubuque, Iowa 52001.
