Albert Kirkpatrick was born 26 June 1821 and died 7 February 1901 at Collins, Jasper County, Texas. Albert was the eldest son of Ellis and Anne (Fowler) Kirkpatrick. He married Emily C. Tinsley, 1 January 1844. She was born circa 1820, and was probably a sister of Philip Tinsley who married Albert's younger sister, Mary Margaret.

There were ten (10) children born of the marriage.

On the 1880 U. S. Census for District 8, Jackson Co., Tennessee, Albert appears with his wife Emily and children Mary, Calip (Caleb), and Richardson T. Kirkpatrick, age 15, listed as other.

Albert Kirkpatrick and Emily C. Tinsley were married on 1 January 1844.³⁹⁹ Emily C. Tinsley, daughter of John Tinsley and Alice Mulkey, was born on 18 March 1820 in Jackson Co., Texas.³⁹⁹ She died on 25 October 1895 at the age of 75 in Plano, Collin Co., Texas.³⁹⁹
