Born Jan. 24, 1962, in Fort Madison, she was the daughter of Walter Lee and Wanda Jean Crabtree Siegrist. She married David Pechin in October 1985 in Longmont. They later divorced. She was raised in Iowa and graduated from Fort Madison High School. She moved to Longmont in 1980. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, football and NASCAR. She will be remembered for her compassion and big heart, providing a warm meal or a dry room when someone was down on his or her luck. Survivors include her mother of West Point; two sons, Riley Pechin of Platteville, Colo., and Logan Haynes of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Neil Siegrist and Mark Siegrist, both of Longmont; one sister, Patricia Ealy of Fort Madison; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. Her body has been cremated. The funeral service for Ms. Pechin will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Howe Mortuary Chapel in Longmont. A memorial has been established for O.U.R. Center in Longmont. Howe Mortuary and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. The Hawk Eye, December 20, 2007.
